"Developed for my own use on a commercial knife route, I built 100 prototypes and sharpened over 100,000 knives over a 10 year period.

 My father taught me to sharpen, and I have always been fascinated by it. Whether I was working in cabinet shops or restaurants, once my co-workers discovered my talent, I was always the one they came to for sharpening.

 One night in 1982, I was sharpening knives for a friend who owned a restaurant. Jon Rowley stopped by to deliver fish and saw my work. He told me, "if you will come sharpen my knives once a week, I will get you all the customers you can handle." So I did, and he did, and I was in the sharpening business. But working with knife sharpeners by hand was too slow. I began working on a better way. For years, I just kept sharpening and designing. As the Professional reached maturity, customers on my route wanted to have one of their own. Once I had the knife sharpening stones perfected, Edge Pro sharpening systems were born!"

Operations Manager Cody Kendal joined the Edge Pro family in 2006

"I began working at Edge Pro in an assembly position in January of 2006 with very little knowledge of how to sharpen a knife. I would always turn down my headphones and listen while Ben would give sharpening demonstrations to customers that walked in. After seeing countless customers give the same testimony of “Wow, this is the sharpest my knife has ever been!” I quickly became eager to learn the skill of sharpening, and realized that what I was helping build was something very special.

I began a sharpening service of my own, and was constantly asking Ben to critique my work. Needless to say my customers were never disappointed.

 My experience working in a machine shop, and my passion for bowhunting has led me to realize the true value of a perfectly sharp edge.

 Today I oversee the daily manufacturing operations, quality control, and shipping."

Product Line Up

Edge Pro knife sharpening system offers two sharpener variants, The Edge Pro Apex and the Pro models.

The Edge Pro Apex is advertised as "Get into high end sharpening for a low cost with Edge Pro Apex model knife sharpeners. Browse our sharpening system kits below."

The Apex models start at about $250 Aud and go up based on the kit option you choose. as standard the kit comes in a soft carry bag and the Pro model comes in a blow mould plastic case, both using carry handles, these are a great way to sharpen a knife.

The Pro models is advertised as " The Edge Pro Professional Model knife sharpener is the heavy duty commercial grade sharpener that knife fanatics and gear junkies choose. Browse our commercial knife sharpening systems below." 

The Pro model starts at around $700 and is an overall larger system with more control.

The Edge Pro Knife Sharpening system is one of the first guided sharpening systems /  fixed angle knife sharpeners and the Edge Pro Professional kit has become a popular sharpener for beginners and experts, we advise against knife sharpener electric systems.

The Edge Pro Apex 1 knife sharpener kit is a patented wet stone sharpening system that will sharpen any size or shape blade (up to 3 ½" wide), including serrated knives. Knives can be sharpened at exactly the same angle every time, making re-sharpening so fast you will never work with a dull blade again. The Edge Pro Apex stones in our wet stone sharpening kits have been custom formulated to free you from messy, gummed-up oil stones. They last a long time and are inexpensive to replace. There are a few key components of this machine that gear it towards commercial sharpeners, and genuine sharpening fanatics. The heavy duty vacuum base will stick hard to any flat surface, and has an adjustable work height feature that makes sharpening for long periods of time more comfortable.
