The Shapton Coarse Grit Lapping Powder is to be used in conjunction with the Shapton NAORU Cast Iron Lapping System It is recommended that the fine powder be used with stones of a grit rating of less than 1000.

The coarse powder aids in resurfacing the whetstone and creating a clean and flat surface to sharpen on.

If you want to lap stones of a grit higher than 1000 grit we would suggest the Medium grit lapping powder.

Ensure that your lapping plate is cleaned thoroughly after lapping to avoid cross contamination of grits.
