The Shop Master 72” Belt Grinder is a premium machine designed for serious fabricators and knife makers looking to work with the 2x72” belt size. The machine features a sleek, single-piece folded body that is laser cut from 10mm plate steel, making it extremely rigid yet uncomplicated to assemble and service.
The grinder is versatile and easy to use, equipped with a fixed steel work rest and a 6-in-1 rotating platen that can be easily adjusted using the quick-change tooling arm slots. The machine is also compatible with a full range of accessories, allowing for even greater versatility.
The Shop Master grinder is powered by a 1.5kw (2hp) motor and plugs into any standard 240v 10a power socket. The included Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) converts power to a 3-phase signal, driving the motor and allowing for belt speed to be adjusted anywhere from 0 – 4800 fpm.
The grinder also features precision CNC machined polyurethane wheels that provide excellent drive wheel traction and make for quieter operation. The flat-plane tracking mechanism offers increased tracking stability and ease of adjustment, while the gas strut automatic tensioning system ensures consistent belt tension regardless of tooling setup. The machine is shipped with all parts and fasteners required for assembly, as well as a pre-wired motor and VFD.
The Shop Master 72” kit includes all parts and fasteners required to assemble the grinder, including a raw steel body, work rest, and rotating platen. The kit also includes a pre-wired 2hp (1.5kw) motor and VFD controller.
