This hone is particularly well suited for sharpening recurve blades, Karambits, Kukris, or any other knife or broadhead with a concave blade design.

This is a perfect solution for sharpening Simmons broadheads with the KME knife sharpening system.

Made in the USA for KME Sharpeners by Hewlett MFG, the hone has 3 oval shaped sharpening surfaces making it ideal for sharpening even the most difficult concave blade designs.

Three grits on one hone: 1 Coarse (270), 2 Medium (600), & 3 Fine (1800) grits.

12.7 cm long, w/three 1.27 cm wide sides.

Includes a KME 28 cm x 0.4 cm diameter guide rod which attaches to the hone with a tight tolerance friction fit. Push the rod about 7 cm into the hone. The rod can be installed in either end of the hone so that the entire diamond surface can be utilized.

About using rounded diamond hones:

When using a rounded hone, care must be taken not to round over the tips of your knives.

This is because unlike a wide flat stone, a rounded rod has a small area of blade contact. It is easy to go just a bit too far and slip passed the tip which will cause the point or tip to be deformed or rounded over slightly. You can be aggressive throughout the length of the blade but be careful when you sharpen the tip section.
