The Shapton Medium Grit Lapping Powder is to be used in conjunction with the Shapton NAORU Cast Iron Lapping System It is recommended that the fine powder be used with stones of a grit rating of less than 5000 but more than 1000.

The medium powder aids in resurfacing the whetstone and creating a clean and flat surface to sharpen on.

If you want to lap stones of a grit lower than 1000 grit we would suggest the Coarse grit lapping powder.

Ensure that your lapping plate is cleaned thoroughly after lapping to avoid cross contamination of grits.
